Dear Music Lovers and Supporters,

The next concert of the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra will be “Hello to Hollywood” on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the USCB Center for the Arts. We are excited to bring you movie soundtrack music. At first you may wonder, will I hear any classical artists on October 8?  Of course, many directors use classical pieces in their films!

For example, our concert repertoire includes movie music from the classical composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Pietro Mascagni and Samuel Barber:

  • Amadeus — Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K. 183: Movement 1, Allegro con brio
  • The King's Speech — Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92: Movement 2, Allegretto
  • Raging BullIntermezzo from the opera “Cavalleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni
  • Platoon — Samuel Barber, Adagio for Strings in B-flat minor
The repertoire will also include the Hollywood hits:
  • West Side Story — Leonard Bernstein/Mason
  • Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back) — John Williams/Whitney
  • Gladiator — Hans Zimmer/Wasson
  • Pirates of the Caribbean — Klaus Badelt/Ricketts
As a reminder, the Tix website is open for receiving season-ticket as well as individual-concert orders. Please note that because there are two (2) Holiday Celebration concerts on Saturday, December 2, 2023, there are two 2023-2024 season-ticket subscription packets. One packet is for those who wish to attend the 3:00 PM Holiday Celebration concert. The other packet is for those who wish to attend the 7:30 PM concert. Similarly, there are two time slots for the individual Holiday Celebration concerts.

Please consider supporting the BSO’s 2023-2024 Season by donating to the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra. For example,
  • $20,000 will sponsor a concert
  • $5,000 will sponsor the Podium or Maestro
  • $4,000 will sponsor the Concertmaster (Violin 1 Section Leader)
  • $3,000 will sponsor a Section Leader (choose from Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass sections)
  • $2,500 will help us bring guest solo artists to perform with the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra
  • $1,000 will help us bring soiree events to small communities within the Beaufort area
  • $500 will help us to send a young Beaufort Symphony Youth Orchestra member to a summer music camp
Thank you for your continued support for the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra. We appreciate all donations, large and small, which go toward Keeping Music Live! in Beaufort.

Sincerely,

BSO Board and Musicians
