music notes

  • The Beaufort Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1986 with 14 musicians. Today, the Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra with more than 50 musicians and offers a broad repertoire of classical, light classical, Broadway and Hollywood music. We want to increase the audience by increasing awareness of the symphony, lowering ticket prices and adding performance opportunities.
  • The Beaufort Symphony Youth Orchestra began in 1999. Today the BSYO is diverse with young people from grades five to twelve and consists of public, private and home-schooled students, who come from Beaufort, Bluffton and Savannah. We want to increase opportunities for young musicians through scholarships and travel grants to music classes, private lessons and music summer camps.
  • The Prodigy Project was established to provide young classical-musician superstars with the opportunity to perform for their first time professionally with a Symphony Orchestra. We want to increase the capacity of the Prodigy Project to bring young musicians from wherever they live.
