Letter from the President - "Keep the Music Live"
I am writing to ask you to join us to preserve and protect one of Beaufort’s cultural jewels. The growth of the Beaufort Orchestra over the last twenty years has been nothing short of miraculous, but we continue to need financial support. The credit for this growth must be given to our conductor, Fred Devyatkin, who joined the orchestra in 1992 when it was composed of only a few local musicians. His talent and dedication have grown this group of musicians into a full 45-member strong symphony orchestra made up of local musicians.
The Beaufort Orchestra is a nonprofit organization, supported through ticket sales and contributions from the private, business and professional communities. Ticket sales represent about 45% of our operating expenses. Therefore a great portion of the funds needed to sustain this organization comes from generous supporters who want to keep the music alive in the Beaufort community. The Orchestra also provides music scholarships, funds for individual lessons and summer music camp opportunities for the next generation of orchestra musicians in the Beaufort Youth Orchestra.
I encourage you to become a member of our Conductor's Circle and to sponsor one of our exciting concerts or a special guest artist in the coming 2007-2008 season. As a member of this exclusive group, you will be prominently recognized for your tax-deductible contribution in all of the season’s concert programs and enjoy other benefits as well. Your participation in the Founders Forum is critical to the continued success of the Beaufort Orchestra. Please join us in our goal to "Keep the Music Live" in Beaufort. Maestro Devyatkin has a most exciting repertoire planned for the coming season. To the left, our Founders Forum program and its benefits is outlined. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Ed Like, President
